Setting up a trampoline is quick and easy if you follow the assembly instructions. A level surface, an assembly pole, a taut net, and a properly fitted safety net are all you need to set up your trampoline.
Setting up a Trampoline in the Garden
Jumping is one of children’s favorite activities. So don’t hesitate to buy a trampoline and make them happy once you’ve secured the space in your home. If your home doesn’t have enough space and you’re considering moving, now might be the right time. It’s also worth noting that there are rental options in Zurich for those who live there. Trampolines are quick and easy to set up and come in a variety of sizes to suit every budget. Assembly isn’t difficult—all you need is about an hour and a little space, and you’ll be able to watch your little ones bounce all summer long.
Steps for Setting Up a Trampoline
1. Check your equipment and prepare the location
Unpack the trampoline. Make sure all the parts are in their proper places. Place the legs on one side and the straps on the other; sort the fabrics, nets, and posts; pack the bags containing the tools and hardware into a box; and arrange them carefully so they don’t get lost.
Set up a drop-off area
The trampoline’s location is very important. On the one hand, it ensures the stability of the structure; on the other hand, it keeps the jumping surface level and safe to use. Use a long ruler and a level to check that the surface is level. If you have trouble leveling it, fill in the gaps with sand. Some manufacturers recommend digging a circular hole about 30 cm deep so that the legs fit inside. This provides greater stability, but it requires a bit more digging. This is a good option if you plan to leave the trampoline in place. In any case, it’s important that the base is flat and stable.
2. Strapping of the connecting structure
The frame typically consists of a series of arched tubes that are screwed together. Please refer to the assembly instructions for details on how to properly assemble all these components. Tighten the screws securely. The result is a perfectly round, continuous tube. This is an important step for the stability of the entire structure.
3. Attach the leg to the strap
The legs are usually U-shaped; they consist of one or more parts and are fastened together like straps. Once all the legs are assembled, insert them into the designated slots (check the assembly instructions again). Screw the entire assembly tightly in place and secure it.
4. Attaching the Trampoline Net
At this stage, the frame must be fully assembled. The side rails have holes at regular intervals to accommodate the springs used to secure and tension the trampoline mat. First, hook all the springs into the frame (check the assembly instructions to make sure they are facing the correct direction). Once all the springs are in place, hook the cover onto one spring, then hook the spring on the other side, and so on. This creates a structurally centered and tightly woven fabric.
5. Place the safety mat on top of the straps.
At this point, you’ll notice that there’s still a dangerous gap between the straps around the trampoline and the cover. For safety reasons, you should place a mat around the cover to close this gap and cover the springs. Simply unfold the mat around the cover and secure it to the underside. Also note that it’s important to install safety posts and nets, attach ladders, and install shoe nets.
