This is also important for allowing a fragrance to unfold through its top, middle, and base notes. A women’s fragrance consists of a top note, which a woman can smell immediately; a middle note, which becomes noticeable only after about 15 minutes; and a base note, which lasts a long time in a high-quality perfume. To avoid mixing scents, a woman should also not try more than three fragrances. As with any personal care product, it may be worth taking a perfume sample home first to test for any adverse reactions over a longer period and to get used to the new scent.
