The Bathroom as an Oasis of Well-Being

While years ago the bathroom was simply equipped for basic personal hygiene and no emphasis was placed on comfort, today the bathroom is very popular as an oasis of well-being. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a renter or a homeowner—a stylish and comfortably furnished bathroom is considered highly desirable. In this once rather spartan room, with tiles reaching all the way to the ceiling, people would quickly take care of what was necessary; the concept of “wellness” didn’t even exist back then. It has only really become trendy in recent years. This may also be related to the hectic pace of life in recent years, the ever-increasing time pressure, and the simultaneously growing need for relaxation and harmony. Anyone building a house today has all options open to them, provided they’re interested in turning their bathroom into a wellness sanctuary. Interior design has evolved toward a purist and rather elegantly functional style that doesn’t stop at the bathroom door.

Stylish furniture and fixtures for the modern bathroom

Bathroom furniture is all the rage. For families in particular, it’s no longer enough to simply put a sink with a vanity in the bathroom. Depending on the size of the room, additional storage space needs to be created. The days of relying on wall shelves and baskets to solve this problem are well and truly over. Today’s modern bathrooms can feature the following:

  • A single or double sink with a vanity that has large drawers or doors
  • A tall cabinet, preferably to the right and left of the mirror, which
  • It is available as a so-called mirror cabinet, with or without storage space, and is equipped with lighting
  • Cabinets that are mounted just above the floor, making them very easy to clean
  • A spacious shower
  • A bathtub with a whirlpool feature

You can turn a bathroom like this, with modern furniture, into a true wellness oasis. The necessary accessories are easy to find. But to create the right atmosphere, the plumbing fixtures are also very important. Even the most beautiful bathroom cabinet won’t look half as good if it isn’t paired with the right fixtures.

Tropical rain showers make the bath a popular oasis of relaxation

In most cases, the shower is used daily, while the bathtub is used less often. But here, just as at the sink, attractive faucets are very important—not only for aesthetic reasons, since an oasis of well-being is also about water, but also to ensure that this precious resource isn’t wasted too freely. In the shower, a showerhead shaped like a wide plate could create a tropical rain shower—that alone is a wellness experience. If the showerhead and faucet are set to conserve water, they’ll be just as easy on the household budget as the sink faucet. Here, too, there are modern options, such as a sensor to limit water flow. Today, the bathroom as an oasis of well-being doesn’t have to sacrifice any comfort just because it promotes water conservation.
