Diets for Women

Editorial Staff

There’s probably no other topic that the market is so saturated with: diets. There are hundreds of different diets, promoted across all kinds of media, and each one claims to be better and more effective than the next. It’s pretty hard to keep a cool head amid this flood of information—but it’s even harder to find the right diet for yourself. To make the search for the right diet easier, there are a few things women should keep in mind when choosing a diet:

  • The diet must be compatible with your daily routine
  • Your diet goal should be realistic—that way, you'll have a better chance of avoiding the yo-yo effect
  • There's no such thing as a "miracle diet" that promises to help you lose 15 kilos in 2 weeks!
  • Stay away from diet pills!
  • Be careful not to put your health at risk
  • Going on a diet doesn't necessarily mean you have to go hungry
  • Exercise and physical activity support your weight-loss efforts and help you reach your goal faster

No matter which diet you choose, always keep your physical and mental well-being in mind. Below, you’ll find two diets that we’ve taken a closer look at for you…

The Easiest Diet in the World, or “The Plus-Minus Principle”

Dr. Stefan Frädrich is breaking new ground with “The World’s Simplest Diet”—or so it seems at first glance. Upon closer inspection, however, one might almost get the impression that the diet describes a process that people trying to lose weight have known about for a long time… Perhaps it could also be described as a very charming way of counting calories, because the principle behind this approach by the renowned motivational coach and physician works like this: For him, the world consists of “red” factors that cause weight gain—resulting in a higher number on the scale—and “green” factors that promote weight loss—resulting in a lower number on the scale. “The World’s Simplest Diet” gives you the key to living a slim and happy life in the “green minus” world from now on—all without torture and without having to give up the treats from the “red” world. The concept seems perfectly suited for everyday life, and this diet certainly doesn’t lack for effectiveness—but first, you need to know which foods are red and which are green. Upon closer inspection, though, it’s really not that hard…

The Pineapple Diet, also known as the “Enzyme Diet”

As a truly exotic fruit, the pineapple isn’t just delicious—it’s also rich in beneficial enzymes that boost fat burning. Furthermore, the pineapple diet is one of the so-called mono diets, or single-food diets, because during this diet you eat only one food—namely, pineapple. Pineapple is particularly delicious and very refreshing during the hot summer months, and it’s certainly a good way to lose a few kilos quickly. Unfortunately, it’s not quite that simple, because the pineapple diet also has a few drawbacks—for example, the body can very quickly develop deficiency symptoms due to the unbalanced diet. Since pineapple contains neither protein nor fat, the diet is based exclusively on carbohydrates—but the body needs much more than that to function properly. That’s why a middle ground is recommended: following a pineapple diet for one or two days, for example, is a good idea. It’s also recommended to eat pineapple only for breakfast. The remaining meals should then consist of other low-calorie foods. You can also incorporate other fruits into your meal plan to make the overall balance a bit more even.
